Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

About Me

Welcome to my practice. I hold a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Cornell University. I currently am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in private practice in Danville with over 21 years of experience in offering mind-body-spirit psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families and groups. I have led groups for teens, men and sexual offenders and worked for Contra Costa County’s Children’s Protective Services for several years. I have taught developmental psychology and neuropsychology for the past 18 years at Diablo Valley College and John F. Kennedy University. My work includes the latest understanding of trauma — including developmental trauma – and I am a Level II trained EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) practitioner. In addition, I am an experienced workshop leader, coach and speaker.

My style is both direct and indirect. Direct means that for those who are open to it, I will use archetypal and various personality modalities to help you open to the mystery of who you are and move through barriers that are holding you back. Indirect means that I will follow your lead through listening and supporting you every step of the way. I also believe that exploring our childhood is crucial in the path to healing.

“The Guest House”

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
